People Behind the Logo: Spotlight on Umut Rica, HR Generalist at Apleona

One of our dedicated professionals at Apleona Ireland is Umut Rica, HR Generalist. Since joining the team nearly six months ago, Umut has been navigating a key transition—helping to integrate two companies following the acquisition of Neylons Facility Management.

With a clear focus on people and process, he plays a role in supporting the integration, helping to align HR policies, communications, and operations in a way that put employees first. His thoughtful approach and strategic mindset makes a real difference.

A Day in the Life

In his role as HR Generalist, Umut oversees the day-to-day operations of HR across a wide and diverse workforce. He reviews employee relations matters and ensures legal compliance to working closely with senior leadership, Umut balances strategic planning with a hands-on delivery.

Beyond the Workday

Outside of the office, Umut enjoys expanding his language skills—often taking online German and Irish courses over the weekend. He’s also an active volunteer in County Clare, supporting youth initiatives.

Umut finds motivation in the kind of culture that empowers people to feel supported, valued, and engaged. “I’m inspired by our leadership team who understand the connection between employee well-being and organisational success,” he shares. His ultimate goal? To drive employee well-being and client satisfaction through every aspect of HR.

Making an Impact

One of Umut’s standout achievements so far has been his contribution to the smooth acquisition and integration of Neylons Facility Management. The process required compliance with Irish employment legislation, effective communication, and the alignment of HR policies. “It was a demanding time, but staying organised and collaborating with colleagues helped ensure we delivered a people-first transition.”

This experience also highlighted one of Umut’s biggest challenges—managing fast-moving HR demands during a period of significant change.
